Living in the isolated mountain ranges in the border region between China and Myanmar, the Wa people has fostered a unique culture of their own which stresses human’s reverence and symbiosis with nature. Every Wa male was once considered an unbowed hunter, a forest guard, and a brilliant knife-wielder, but as the Wa clan increased its connection to the modern society, the traditions that have been carried on for thousands of years are fading their colors. The Head and the Priest of the Wa clan, Ai Cong, puts high hopes on his only son, Ai Hu, for passing on the responsibilities and traditions of their ancestors. While Ai Cong is eager to teach the traditional Wa culture in crisis to his 12-year-old son, is Ai Hu ready to take the role of the inheritor and keep the flame alive?
