In the quiet that follows a sudden rupture in her life, June Cao, a Chinese Vietnamese American woman, prepares a meal for a loved one. Stuck in a ritual of remembering, she carries the weight of an unspoken loss. But when she crosses paths with a wise elder, June is reminded of what remains in the absence. Through food and care, she begins to understand what it means to live on and to make space for what loss and love can become after.
