Massage Baby! is a video work in which the artist performs a Chinese female massage worker, drawing from her own encounters with Chinese massage workers in New York and from footage and audio gathered during filming. Structured around a staged documentary setup, the work begins as an interview requested by a filmmaker who wants her to speak about massage labor, then gradually slips as observation turns intimate and the boundary between documentation, service, and projection starts to blur.
