Based on the filmmaker’s real life and adapted from the critically acclaimed one-woman show of the same name that premiered at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Call Me Crazy is an intimate portrait of a young woman suspended between desire, illness, and the longing to be understood. Over the course of one restless night at a roadside motel, Emi forms a fleeting connection with a stranger that unfolds into a raw exploration of vulnerability, chronic pain, and the invisible battles waged inside her own body. As attraction and confession intertwine, Emi confronts the frustration of not being believed and the deep human need to be held; by another person, and by the world around her. Tender, volatile, and darkly funny, Call Me Crazy captures a moment of fragile connection that reveals the quiet resilience required to keep going.
