A bold fusion of pop, reggae, and sci-fi, Bombastic is a high-concept music video set in an alternate island universe where sound sparks life… and music speaks truth to war. It opens through the eye of a television, revealing three peaceful moments disrupted by ominous warplanes overhead: a woman hanging clothes, surfers at sea, and children about to play soccer. As vintage bomb footage plays, the band appears in a series of haunting wartime settings — from the killing fields of ruined villages to the smoke-filled interior of a bombed-out town, at the gates of a military base, in a hidden bunker taking over the radio broadcast, and finally, in front of the headlights of a medical transport, singing through a walkie talkie. Musically confronting destruction, they deliver a message of resistance and hope. In a powerful reversal, the bomb scenes unwind, restoring joy to each moment: the close line girl now dances, the surfers surf, the keiki (children) now laugh and play. The camera then zooms back to the original TV — surrounded by ghostly remnants of wartime figures — before continuing outward to reveal a wall of televisions in an alternate universe, each replaying moments from the music video. The zoom pushes even further, unexpectedly revealing a bedroom in the stars: an alien spaceship watching it all unfold. From a sunset to a final sunrise in the galactic bedroom — a new dawn — Bombastic becomes a cosmic anthem of resilience, rhythm, and art’s power to change fate. Shot at Hawai‘i’s iconic Kualoa Ranch and brought to life by Khepera Ridley and director Jonathan Stimac of Big Island Studios, Bombastic is not just a song — it’s a message to the world.
