At Regong, a Tibetan-inhabited region in Qinghai Province of China, two Tibetan girls are taking their fourth year of Thangka painting education at Regong Cultural Palace of Nationalities. Under the instructions of Monk Gazang, the official inheritor of Thangka, as well as the headmaster, they strive to prove that girls can compete with boys if given a chance–not just in painting beautiful Thangka, but also making a good life and becoming a real MAN.
