After receiving medical treatment, Silas, a blind man, is given 500 seconds to see for the first time in his life. While being consulted by a doctor, Silas is asked what he’s most excited to see, which he says: the wind. As he starts to gain sight, he sees his friend’s face, Clara, for the first time. While Silas is taking it all in, he hears wind chimes in the distance and runs off towards the sound. As he follows it, he runs his fingers through the grass, stares at the shining sun, and looks at his own shadow. As Silas gets closer to the sound of the chimes, he grows desperate as his time ticks down. Finally, Silas finds the wind chimes hanging off the branch of a tree. Confused on where the wind is, Silas becomes frustrated and hits the wind chimes in a fit of rage. Clara finally catches up to him, confused on why he ran off. Silas tells her about his goal of seeing the wind with his own eyes, while his vision progressively gets worse. Silas brings up a childhood memory to Clara, explaining his motivation to see the wind. Clara tells him that even though he can’t see the wind, it never left him. A gust of wind blows on Silas, and he finally accepts this reality. Silas spends his last few seconds with the wind.
