Mark and Sophie, who are these two to each other? A couple? No, they are siblings. Cutting back and forth during one phone call, one seems to wish the other well, but in fact has initiated a complex discussion mixing manipulation and sincere love. Mark and Sophie is an unexpected story of two adult siblings, a relationship not often explored in film with its complexities of gender roles, sexuality, unreasonable expectations and parallels to romance. Both characters struggle with addiction and codependency, and each has to make a choice in relation to each other and themselves in their immediate, life-or-death circumstance. Female written, produced and directed with a female camera crew and edit team.
