Subpoena

“Subpoena” is the first episode of a New York City based anthology series called, “Deadass”, exploring a diverse group of New York City couples, dealing with modern romance through technology and culture. Some scenarios will include, a middle aged married couple navigating through the digital dating scene, a live-in couple struggling to find a sexual middle ground, and a successful couple’s therapist who’s on a desperate crusade for love.

Chris’s porn addiction prevents him from genuine intimacy with his wife. However, his life takes an embarrassing and hilarious turn after he’s subpoenaed for downloading XXX movies. Now, he must stand before a judge, and his wife, to confront the obsession in court.

Danny (8 years old) has a lot on his plate, too small to stand up to his drunken dad and to protect his mum; though he is plotting revenge on his no-good dad. Together they escape into an imagined world together before being brought back to their troubled world. Danny’s patience pays off and his father falls flat. Danny is triumphant.
