When a young girl brings a damaged photograph of her grandfather to a reclusive photographer, she hopes to recover the face of someone she never knew. Emmanuel has spent decades restoring faces of old photos in hope to find her mother. But the photograph carries a past that refuses to remain buried, forcing him to confront the silence, guilt, and memories left behind by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
