How far would you go for the right to your own language?
In 2001, five deaf people and one hearing person—Colette, Colin, Ishtiaq, Katie, Louise and Jude—were arrested in Wolverhampton after taking part in a historic act of protest. Their arrest would become a defining moment in the decades-long fight for the recognition of British Sign Language.
This is the remarkable story of six ordinary people pushed to extraordinary lengths, united by the belief that their language and their rights could no longer be ignored.
