One afternoon, Chan Hing, a fruit and vegetable stall owner, received a notice of clearance for public development. As the market’s demolition became imminent, the family-run shop faced the twilight of its existence. Two generations of the family held diverging views on its impending end: Chan Hing, who had spent his life at the stall, was caught between a deep nostalgia for the past and an agonizing uncertainty about the future. His eldest daughter, Chan Sze Hang, a student, sought to “document” the shop in her own way, while his younger son, Chan Yue Hei, who worked alongside him, retreated into game centers, choosing to live for the moment. This is a story of how individuals define themselves in the shadow of a fading era.
