In this dark fairy tale, a strange girl must decode the clues left behind by her missing sister to free herself from the gothic lab where she was created, before it’s too late.
Calico lives with her strange family in a confined science lab. When her sister Smoke disappears, she finds a disturbing drawing left behind that warns her about staying there. Her father, Master Lee, blames Queen Mary, a bronze mechanical statue, for Smoke’s absence.
When Calico confronts Queen Mary, it comes to life and embraces her. In the morning, a new girl is born from the statue. Calico investigates the lab, and discovers Lee’s plot to produce mentally-stunted girls. She steals his ring, the secret key to the door, and with Queen Mary’s help, escapes the lab and Smoke’s fate.
