In a rain-soaked city of anthropomorphic dogs, a grizzled wolf detective – the department’s only outsider – catches a murder with an impossible piece of evidence: the victim’s own witness statement, recorded three weeks before she died, describing her death in perfect detail. Working a cold building that would rather forget both of them, he follows the tape back through the machinery of the precinct itself.
