Xiao, a mute woman abducted to a mysterious cave, finally gets a chance to leave the mountain and live a “blessed life” after giving birth to a baby boy. On her way down the mountain, she unexpectedly spots a girl in an eerie colorful dress. The hues of the dress are identical to those of the colorful swaddling clothes she once wove with her own hands for her deceased baby daughter.
The girl in the colorful dress flickers in and out of sight like a ghost among the mountains, constantly leading Xiao back to the cave. Driven by curiosity, Xiao follows her. When she returns to the cave — home to a giant Buddha head, bizarre scarecrows and expressionless women — and encounters the masked Taoist priest again, she uncovers a terrifying truth…
