Artist James Magee spent over forty years building installation in the West Texas desert, El Paso. Often working alone or with one assistant, Magee constructed four stone buildings, in the shape of an equidistant cross, containing his large steel-and-glass sculptures.
“James Magee and The Hill” takes the viewer to the artist’s studio and to The Hill, which he worked on until his death in 2024.
Magee and The Hill have been profiled in The New York Times and several international art magazines. The Hill is a mysterious, spiritual construction of a visionary and unique American artist.
