Named after the Egyptian god of rebirth, the Osiris missions were
humanity’s final attempt to find a new home. When Osiris 8 crash-lands on a barren mining planet, astronaut K survives alone in an underground bunker with his only companion: a robot called ARI, his primary function to keep K alive. Each day he treks across endless desert, harvesting worm-like aliens called stonefish for food while clinging to the hope of rescue. As the 29-hour days stretch into months, starvation and isolation fracture K’s mind. When ARI’s power supply finally dies, K loses the last voice anchoring him to reality. Desperate and delirious, he consumes a
mysterious alien plant. What follows is a cosmic, psychedelic journey through memory and grief-culminating in a vision of his deceased father waiting for him on the horizon. K walks toward him, embracing his death and his destiny.
