The show follows cynical KAT, the host of Detroit’s most popular home renovation TV show – BREAK IT OR BUY IT. A once aspiring theatre actress, she took the hosting job as a temporary gig, only for it to become an overnight hit. After five grueling years, she wants nothing more than to get it cancelled in the hopes of landing real roles. She’s helped by MATT, her husband, a lovable nerd who created the show and CHRIS, a lazy, sleazy editor. But no matter what they do to ruin the show, ratings go through the roof! To make matters worse, new intern MISSY, who also happens to be the studio head’s niece, is on a mission to save BREAK IT OR BUY IT from collapse and prove she has what it takes to host her own show.
