The Prince Charming Theory is a story that pulls you in with familiarity and then challenges you with its honesty. At its heart, it’s about Clara—a young woman navigating the aftermath of trauma—and her journey toward strength, survival, and reclaiming her voice. After a date night with her “prince charming” goes awry, Clara must figure out how to move on from the experience while distracted by Olive, a young girl she has been nannying for many years. While on the clock Clara must simultaneously face her fears without imparting them onto Olive, figuring out how to teach her about the horrors and blessings that come with relationships without exposing her own recent experience. This film balances moments of warmth and connection with the harder truths that so many experience but few can actually talk about.
