Archives follows Hugh, a photographer still quietly in love with his former partner, Ella, after she becomes engaged to another man. While creating a photo book for Ella and Peter’s engagement, Hugh is forced to confront memories of their relationship — both the joyful moments and the painful distance that eventually grew between them. As he struggles with jealousy, regret, and lingering attachment, Hugh ultimately chooses acceptance over bitterness, giving Ella a gift that honors her happiness rather than his own desires. The film is a quiet, emotionally restrained meditation on memory, heartbreak, and the difficult act of letting go.
