This documentary follows a young filmmaker, Kristine, as she reunites with her family to weave together the story of her grandmother’s life. Suffering from late-stage dementia, her paternal grandmother, “Má Má (嫲嫲),” can no longer conversate and has lost the bulk of her memories. Yet, the urge to preserve, celebrate, and honor Má Má’s experience and sacrifice feels imminent. This film focuses on Kristine’s memories of Má Má, as well as her family’s perspectives and understandings of their shared history and Chinese culture.
