Posted by The 6th Annual Indie Short Fest brought filmmakers, actors, writers, producers, and film lovers together at Regal LA Live in Los Angeles for an international event dedicated to independent cinema — celebrating bold storytelling, emerging voices, and award-winning films from multiple countries.
Held on May 9, 2026, the Annual Awards showcase welcomed audiences across multiple screening auditoriums throughout the day, featuring official selections, premieres, filmmaker Q&A sessions, industry conversations, networking events, and the evening Awards Show honoring this year’s standout achievements in short filmmaking.
This year’s celebration featured 67 films from 23 countries, including 34 premieres. Across 39 competitive categories, 27 films from 11 countries were ultimately honored during the Annual Awards ceremony, selected from a highly competitive pool of 3,993 monthly finalists submitted between September 2024 and December 2025.
Red Carpet Arrivals
Filmmakers, actors, producers, and special guests arrived throughout the day at Regal LA Live, bringing energy and excitement to the festival’s red carpet celebrations in the heart of Los Angeles.
Filmmaker Q&A Sessions
Hosted by actress Kayden Tokarski, the Filmmaker Q&A Sessions offered audiences the opportunity to hear directly from directors and creative teams behind this year’s nominated films, exploring the stories, inspirations, and filmmaking journeys behind their work.
Industry Panel
Moderated by Tristan Boesch, the Industry Panel featured acclaimed actor Stephen Tobolowsky, actress Alexa Mansour, and producer, actress, and writer Cynthia Gravinese, alongside special guests Mitch Yapko, Mark Dylan Brown, and Antonia Horlick, for an engaging conversation about storytelling, performance, and independent filmmaking.
Cocktail Reception
Between events, filmmakers, guests, and industry professionals gathered for the Cocktail Reception, creating moments of connection, conversation, and celebration throughout the evening.
Annual Awards Ceremony
