Elliot, a recent graduate and Chinese photography student in Los Angeles, is drifting through cultural pressure, a recent breakup, and the uncertainty of what comes next. When she meets Jules – an actress performing Juliet in a vertical short film – Elliot becomes convinced they are fated lovers, echoing The Peony Pavilion, a Chinese tale where a woman falls for someone in a dream. As her desire intensifies, boundaries between memory, illusion, and perception begin to blur. What begins as longing slowly fractures into a crisis of identity and selfhood.
