Faced with terminal illness and the extinction of his craft due to modern policies, master coffin-maker Qin Guisheng accepts a final commission: a “longevity coffin” meant to bring luck to Wei Qiming’s dying father. As Guisheng caresses the precious wood, he realizes the profound irony-he is crafting a symbol of life while his own is fading.
