Aviv, a young Israeli reservist, is called up on October 7th under emergency orders. Alongside his original team from mandatory service, he now takes part in the assault on Beit Hanoun and the occupation of northern Gaza. The brutal reality of war confronts them with physical and mental trials beyond anything they’ve known.
When a wall collapses in the room where the team rests, nearly striking Aviv, his calm reaction becomes a target for mockery. But Aviv is unfazed—he prefers to cook for his friends, retreating into quiet rituals amid the storm.
As hours stretch and pressure mounts, exhaustion and frustration surface in tense conversations and exaggerated displays of masculinity. Slowly, Aviv’s detachment begins to erode. Cooking and passive containment can no longer shield him. As the battle intensifies outside, an experience breaks through—forcing Aviv to face the part of himself that went numb on October 7th.
