On a chaotic film set, a director fights to hold together a sweeping historical epic, convinced it can awaken “true values” in a modern audience. But the film refuses to stay contained: the actors sense the audience watching from the other side and begin responding to it, pulling the story off course with every interruption. As the director pushes harder for grandeur and control, the gap between his vision and the world receiving it widens until the spectacle becomes less about the battle on screen and more about the struggle to be heard at all.
