In a small midwestern town, the founding clergyman of a small ultra-fundamentalist church, Gideon, has his sphere of influence put at risk when the child of a prominent congregant couple goes missing with no leads. In an attempt to recoup his waning power, Gideon decides to dedicate a new crucifix to the missing child and her parents; a symbol of hope and perseverance. Right on the verge of the ceremony, a strange man visits confession and reveals to Gideon the depraved secret behind the child’s disappearance. Backed into a corner, Gideon decides to doll out his own “divine” judgement.
