“The Alien Hunter” uses a myriad of different mediums to tell its story. Although most of the film is animated in 3D using Maya, there are elements that feature 2D segments that are animated in the app “Procreate” and composited in After Effects. In addition to this, the app “Toon Squid” was used to draw over shots in order to emulate FX. DaVinci Resolve was also used in the color grading process following compositing.
