“Higher Education” is a coming-of-age drama that follows idealistic sociology major Mia and her best friend Ryan over the course of four years as they navigate the trials of college life. Amid systemic failures and personal struggles, their dreams are tested and feelings of isolation deepen—forcing them to confront who they are and who they want to be. At its core, “Higher Education” is a story about companionship. As Mia and Ryan face their most defining events of young adulthood, the film explores the emotional wounds left by society, circumstance, and each other, reflecting on how we learn to cope with both the trauma and the beauty of growing up.
