Under the Purple Water is the story of Grant, a once distinguished psychologist who fell from grace when a controversial therapy he created went horribly wrong. Reduced to counseling non-critical clients handed to him by his ex-wife out of pity, he suffers through the indignity by feigning just enough interest in these clients to earn a meager living, while waiting desperately for an opportunity to restore his reputation to the heights of prestige he once thoroughly enjoyed.
