“Doing Nothing, Going Nowhere” is a zero-budget experimental short film that emerged during the writing and recording of an original alt/indie EP inspired by the 2000s–2010s soundscape. Blending surrealist visuals, humor, and philosophical musings, the film explores themes of god, death, meaning, and the tension of living in a postmodern world.
Structured around three original music videos, the narrative is interwoven with unscripted moments, abstract transitions, and satirical skits — creating a hybrid experience that’s part film, part visual album, and part existential sketch comedy. The film’s abstract intro went viral online, offering a glimpse into the surreal tone and emotional core of the piece.
Shot entirely in-house with DIY spirit and no budget, “Doing Nothing, Going Nowhere” is both a creative rebellion and a reflection of the strange stillness we all experience when we’re searching for something… but finding nothing at all.
