Xiaoyang’s favorite day is Saturday—the day her father returns home, and her grandmother prepares a lavish feast. Yet this abundance comes at a cost: the family spends the rest of the week, from Monday to Friday, trapped in a cycle of endless leftovers. And so it repeats, week after week.
Though Xiaoyang yearns for fresh meals, she cannot voice her feelings. Her silent rebellions rage only in her mind, always ending in defeat.
