A moving documentary focused on workers who were laid off in the great unemployment wave during the 1990s in China. My aunt and uncle were among those workers, so I started by interviewing them and their colleagues. Along the way I witnessed them reconcile with their past, I also saw the event as well as history itself from a new perspective. The documentary changed my life, it is a true and touching story of human struggle, sacrifice, and resilience.
