Berlin-based electronic artist Moderna releases her new single, “DIE4U,” the first taste of her upcoming album, The Future Is Among Us.
“DIE4U” pays homage to Prince’s iconic “I Would Die 4 U,” acknowledging the timeless emotion and artistic expression of the original. Moderna reimagines the sentiment with a fresh sound, entirely self-produced and written in Berlin. The track pulsates with Moderna’s signature sound: layered vocals manipulated with pitch and panning, a driving bass line, and a powerful electro beat. “DIE4U” evokes a controlled yet arousing sense of movement, a perfect dance floor opener guaranteed to get the night started.
“I wanted to create a song that captured the raw emotion of Prince’s original while pushing the boundaries of electronic music,” says Moderna. “DIE4U is a celebration of artistic legacy and the power of music that accentuates our sensuality.”
Complementing the single release, Moderna unveils a captivating music video created in collaboration with video artist and animator Alexander S. White. Who took inspiration from the ethereal quality of the shibari footage, pushing it further with his unique approach by projecting it through a custom glass table and layering fog on top to create the holographic effect with light, adding a dreamy quality that enhances the abstract nature of the piece.
