In her hotel room, Steph, a 50-year-old married woman at a lawyer conference, is torn between two lipstick shades. As the room gradually turns purple, a mysterious hand with a distinctive watch emerges, turning her face to the red lipstick side. Her husband interrupts, calling her on Facetime. She asks his opinion on the dress she plans to wear to dinner with her co-worker, Charles.
At dinner, the audience realizes Charles is the same man from her fantasies, identified by his watch. He’s flirtatious and invites her to share dessert in his room. She rejects him and walks away. A kind waiter stops her and gives her a dessert on the house.
Back in her room, Steph stalks Charles on social media and impulsively decides to go to his room, but when she hears a female voice inside, she realizes he’s already with someone else. Disappointed, she returns to her room and eats the dessert alone.
As she enjoys the dessert, she remembers the kind waiter. The scene cuts to her door opening, revealing the waiter with room service and another dessert. She invites him to share it, and he accepts. The colored lights return, this time red, casting their shadows kissing on the curtain.
