Dr. Shi Kaiping is a surgeon and director of ICU. As a pivotal hospital staff member, his life seems to be tightly intertwined with his work. He follows a highly intensive year-round schedule, always ready to fight as a soldier, even at rest.
The Chinese character Yī (悘) is made of characters “医” and “心” which literally mean “doctor/medicine” and “heart” respetively. In the Kang-Xi Dictionary, an ancient dictionary of the Chinese language, it is interpreted as “respectful and calm.” Originating from the mountainous area, Dr. Shi has rooted himself deeply in grassroots hospitals, dedicating himself quietly and tirelessly to his profession. He is a doctor, a husband, a father, a son, a brother, and a fellow villager. He approaches each role with earnestness and pure love, embodying his responsibilities and commitments with utmost sincerity.
