‘Life is not boring, you are’
is a documentary film short that follows
Wika Wojcikiewiscz on a four month long journey across Poland working on a collaboration with four elderly polish women who appeared in the music Maria Peszek’s music video ’Ave Maria’ (2021). Inspired by depictions of sexual liberation by the actors, Wojcikiewiscz was interested in meeting the women, learning their stories, hearing their wisdoms and finally co-producing a series of images that allowed them to challenge conservative Polish legislation, public nudity and the policing of mature women’s bodies motivated glamour publishing. Filmed by Wojcikiewiscz, the short captures the spirit of kitchen table talks, laughter, inter- generational conversations that lead to artist’s final photographic work.
