Pitches

Pitches

Posted by

Emma has the rare gift of perfect pitch. She can identify the pitch of any musical note. Her parents think she is hallucinating and seek medical help for a cure for perfect pitch because Emma can be a doctor or lawyer or both, but not a musician. After all MIT may not even have a music department!

The gift of perfect pitch is also causing Emma some major problems too. She never needed to learn
how to read music because of perfect pitch, but now she may lose her precious place as the guitarist in the school jazz band to the new girl who can read music.

Will perfect pitch prevail in the battle of the duelling guitars for a place in the band or will Emma do what is best for the band and step down from the band for the new girl…or will she finally learn to read music?
Sometimes our greatest gifts are given to us to teach us our greatest lessons, but the eternal question remains: are we willing to learn the lessons or continue to play it our way?

Directed by Paetyn Naidoo (South Africa)
