Laiba is the story of a young Muslim American woman, ‘Laiba’ who is home visiting her parents on break from college. Her parents, who have modeled their approach to life after the modern American Civil Rights movement, find themselves challenged by Laila’s news that she is asking for consent to marry a non-Muslim American man who is a classmate at Laiba’s college.
