Nominated for Best Drama Short and Best Student Female Director of the Year, the film has its California premiere at Block 2. Animation and Children, Cinema #12: 12.40pm – 2.20pm.

Somber Tides director and coreographer Chantal Caron and Emie-Liza Caron St-Pierre, director of Fleuve | Espace danse, co-producer of the film.

Nominated for Best Screendance Short of the Year, Somber Tides has its Los Angeles premiere at Block 3. Docs and Women, Cinema #12: 2.25pm – 4.05pm.

Guatemala

Mateo Sicilia, writer and director of Casa Paraíso, producer Karen Sicilia, and editor Carmen Bartolome.

The film is nominated for Best Dark Comedy Short, Best Student Male Director, and Best Actress of the Year (María Mercedes Coroy) and has its Los Angeles premiere in Block 1. ThrillersCinema #12: 11am – 12.35pm.

Germany

Maria Salinger, director and lead actress of Bubbles.

Bubbles has been awarded Best First Female Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score in July 2024.

Thomas L. Dietz, lead actor of Walther.

Walther has been awarded Best Foreign-Language Short of the Season (Special Jury Award) in June 2024.

Israel

Noya Tsur, lead actress of Blue Marks.

The film is nominated for Best Romantic Comedy Short and has its California premiere in Block 5. Love and Other StoriesCinema #13: 11am – 12.50pm.

Italy

Cristina Principe, director of short documentary Field of Freedom.

Field of Freedom is currently in competition in the monthly season of February 2025.

Serbia

Marko Bosanac, writer, director and producer of New Idea.

Nominated for Best Animation Short of the Year, the film plays at Block 2. Animation and Children, Cinema #12: 12.40pm – 2.20pm.

Marko Bosanac participates as guest speaker in the Q&A panel set for 4.55pm, Cinema #14.

UK

Pike London-based executive producer and lead actor Charles Delaney.

Nominated for Best Web Series/TV Pilot of the Year, dark comedy TV show Pike is a California premiere set for Block 7. ComediesCinema #13: 2.25pm – 4.05pm.

Maxi Curnow, British BBC and Universal music composer, and writer, director and producer of Out of the Fire.

Out of the Fire is currently in competition in the monthly season of February 2025.

Screenwriter Rachel Walsh-Williams.

Rachel Walsh-Williams was awarded honourable mention for Hear My Song in the monthly season of June 2024.

UK-based filmmaker and photographer Todd Antony, from New Zealand, director of We Are Flying Stars.

Shot in Sierra Leone, the film is nominated for Best Documentary Short of the Year. It plays at Block 3. Docs and WomenCinema #12: 2.25pm – 4.05pm.
