Spinach is the source of income that my uncle and his family rely on. At the same time, as a vegetable that is not particularly irritating or offensive, it has a bland taste and is widely planted in most areas. It seems to be a symbol of this ordinary people. During the more than half a year I spent with my uncle and his family, I recorded the trivial details of their lives, their hardship and sweat in growing spinach, and their helplessness and pain when they were hit by the epidemic.
