Bed Bug Love is the first performance video single from the Danny Alias album, Beat The Poet. Featuring the stylish dance moves of Jack Quint and the impeccable typing skills of Mark C., the video was directed and edited by Russell Dreher of RJD Productions, Astoria, NY.
Lyrically, Bed Bug Love is an allegory to the plague years, both past and present. Having lived through both the AIDS and Covid epidemics, Danny Alias channels the fear and isolation created by these devastating illnesses. The lyrics: “In a scourge, you don’t feel the urge” reflect not only the tone of a most horrible period from our past, but also a present where navigating one’s health is now a 24/7 necessity. “Get me out of Bed Bug lays. Better days.”
