The prequel to “Pledge” is set on the campus of E.C. Brooks University and follows the story of Tre, a student studying for his crossing ceremony in a prestigious vampire fraternity. Despite distractions from his new roommate Cali, girlfriend Breonna, and his dorm being ransacked, Tre remains focused on studying for the ceremony. However, when he is falsely accused of breaking the universities application code of conduct, the fraternity members set a trap to mislead Tre into a fake ceremony, then torture him to death. The story ends with CJ, the fraternity leader, reporting Tre’s murder to the complicit Dean, who secretly organizes this violent act.
