16-year-old Amina has dreamed about gliding across the stage as Giselle for as long as she can remember. Her dreams of becoming a prima ballerina stand strong until her ballet teacher, Miss Sabine, crushes her hopes in one fatal cast announcement of Giselle. Feeling trapped in the confinements she believes her appearance brings, Amina’s dreams seem to slip right between her fingers. In a coming of age story about a young black ballerina showing how to remain true to your own skin, Amina comes to terms with her identity with the help of her mother and a passion for dance.
