When she was young, the girl’s grandmother was a paper binding artist who did funerals for people. She pursued this art all her life but was not understood by people around her. During a summer vacation, the girl got to know her grandmother at her grandmother’s home from first meeting. The girl gradually understood her grandmother and decided to help her realize her wishes.
What the elderly and children have in common in this society is that they are both marginal groups. The grandmother in the film is not only old, but also has an incomprehensible pursuit. This film adopts the narration from the perspective of children, uses watching instead of expression in most paragraphs, deconstructs discourse with silence, and reveals the theme of “death” as a bystander.
