This is a documentary about my grandfather, Ông Tiến. He was an artist, soldier, revolutionary, storyteller, and father. The film is an archive of his legacy told to us by those who remember him, and those who lived the duality of war and economic hardship, and a socio-economic boom. This documentary explores how a cultural era defines a person, how a granddaughter remembers her roots, and how looking at the past brings us to face our present.
