Ten

In an interview with his live-in partner and first male relationship, an African American and former soldier is forced to come to terms with the conflict between his Christian faith and homosexuality. This struggle is exacerbated by the acceptance, non-acceptance of his Christian mother which displays itself in increasingly overt ways, the last of which is an underhanded suggestion for him to be delivered of his homosexuality. This last display, along with her pending visit and in-person introduction to his boyfriend, propels him into a crisis of faith. Desperate, he seeks what he believes is his only out…suicide.
