As an experimental auto-biographical archeological investigation of the director’s relationship with their deceased father who was a victim of the crack epidemic in the United States, the film explores the ties between their death and the erasure of Black communities by the US government. In this excavation, Deal uses their body as a vehicle to travel the infinite space of time to offer the potentiality of memory as collective history and a conduit of the future, Blackness as infinite, and mythology as true opponents to the decolonization of historical artifacts of marginalized peoples.
Directed by Jordan Deal (USA)
