Cultural tourism is a prosperous industry that holds promise for both the members of marginalized cultures and intellectually curious members of hegemonically dominant cultures. However, questions exist as to whether it is really a positive experience, or if it is exploitative for the culture involved in the tourism. In this documentary, Jessie Brown and Katie Kessler explore and research cultural tourism as it is practiced with the Maori people in New Zealand, ultimately deciding whether that practice could be used for other marginalized groups as a way to spread their culture.
