This is the official music video for “Improg”, a track off the OVAL album “Scis” (released on Thrill Jockey Records on January 17th, 2020).
The video is centered around various digital manipulations of a 3D-rendered model of a grand piano, resonating with the piano sound aesthetics featured in the track and meticulously animated in sync with the music’s intricate loops and structures.
Utilizing frame-by-frame animation techniques and various custom processing tools, the piano model is constantly disassembled and reassembled and gets sculpted into an increasingly dizzying, ecstatic barrage of colorful digital patterns.
